DR. A.S. HOPKINS WAS LISTED IN THE HARTFORD CONNECTICUT DIRECTORY FROM 1882 TO 1889.IN 1901 HOPKINS SOLD THE BUSINESS TO F.S. AMIDON. THE LABEL ON THIS BOTTLE ALSO READS “UNDER THE FOOD AND DRUG ACT OF JUNE 30, 1906. IT WOULD APPEAR THAT THIS BOTTLE WAS MANUFACTURED AFTER JUNE 30, 1906.
THIS DR. A.S. HOPKINS UNION STOMACH BITTERS BOTTLE IS ALMOST FULL WITH ITS ORIGINAL LABELS. BOTTLE IS BOLDLY EMB. ON SUNKEN FRONT PANEL. LABELS ARE IN POOR CONTITION BUT SOME OF THE LABELS ARE READABLE. COMPOSED OF SARSAPARILLA AND OTHER ROOTS AND BARKS.
SQUARE WITH 2 SUNKEN & 2 FLAT SIDES AMBER IN COLOR, 9 1/2"TALL.
EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO CHIPS OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND. A NICE CLEAN BOTTLE WITH NO HAZE. STILL HAS ORIGINAL CORK STOPPER.
I DO NOT KNOW THE CONTENTS OF THIS BOTTLE. LOOKS LIKE THE ORIGINAL CORK STOPPER THAT CANNOT BE REMOVED BECAUSE IT IS PUSHED DOWN LOWER THAN THE TOP OF THE BOTTLE.
