Vintage NORITAKE HUMIDOR Tobacco Jar with Blown Out OWL Mold AS IS

Description

Gorgeous and hard to find humidor or tobacco jar made by Noritake.  This is what is called a "blown-out mold", as the decoration stands out in relief from the side of the jar.  The owl is essentially 3-D and the oak leaves and acorns are in heavy relief as well.
The jar is beautiful with great color but it is
AS IS
.  Large, approx. 3/4" shallow chip to the outer edge of the jar.  The chip has been smoothed and the brown edge color drawn back in so that it is not so glaring.  The touch-up is well done. There are also 2 little paint marks on the lid, apparently accidently made by the decorator.  There is no other damage to this piece - no hairlines or other chips. Please see the photos!
The jar is a bisque exterior finish with a blue background and vibrant autumn leaf colors.  The owl is done in very natural, true to life colors.  He's perched on a branch.  The entire jar is hand painted - a beautiful and realistic work of art.
The humidor measures just under 7" tall with the lid and the base is just over 4" in diameter.  Marked with the green Noritake wreath mark on the base.  The interior and base are both a plain gloss white finish.
A fabulous piece of Noritake, even with the damage. It will be packed securely and shipped priority. A great addition to your collection.
