Ct Barn Find yellow olive green Colored Ladies Leg Bitters Bottle Applied Top

$ 23.16

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Time Period Manufactured: Antique (Pre-1900)
  • All returns accepted: Returns Accepted
  • Condition: Here is an antique bitters type bottle known as a ladys leg because of the long neck. It was actually found under a collapsed portion of a really old barn I am cleaning out in Naugatuck Connecticut off Hunters Mountain Road. It was mixed in with some really rotten old wood and metal farm implements in an area that caved in untold years ago and was overgrown. There is broken crockery in the area so I will continue to look for stuff here. There was an old axe head in this area that I sold a few days ago. Anyway, the bottle has no cracks but there is an impact chip or sharp pick type open bruise that's pretty small on the upper neck area. I took lots of pics. Probably happened whenever that corner of the little shack attached to the barn collapsed in the distant past. There is a small surface scrape type raked glass skid mark on the side too. See pics.There are other wear and light scratches here or there but very minor. Nice bubble in the lower side too.Bottle is clean. It's 11 3/4" tall

I see no evidence of any pontil mark as some of these seem to have as I researched this bottle. This is a nice deep greenish yellow color. Seems like many of these tend to be brown. I tried to capture the color with the sun on it for most pictures.
