This is an early blackglass dark olive green Dr. J.Hostetters Stomach Bitters bottle from the 1856-1861 period.......

(boldly emb on front panel)....plain sunken bottom......Hand blown in mold, bimal....early smooth base with big 1/2 circle hinge mold seam ...crude drippy applied tapered collar....blackglass dark olive green.....9 3/8"tall x 3"square....Excellent shiny nice condition with only one small shallow chip on very bottom; no other damage. A nice clean bottle with only a couple spots of light inside haze which are virtually invisible since the glass is so dark. Some small light scratches & a tiny smooth seed bubble on surface.  Bold crisp embossing! ...Circa 1856-1861 older variant Hostetters. It is a true dark green black color; not amber. One of the finest blackglass green Hostetter's I've seen! ....
